The director of advisory services (DAS) is an experienced, full-time position responsible for managing and growing a book of investment advisory clients. It is a highly-visible role that is the face of the firm and primary contact for clients. The DAS is a demanding position, and success requires effective management of multiple priorities. The ideal candidate is a financial-services professional with experience in relationship management, business development, and investment services.  The candidate should also have an existing, verifiable book of managed-money clients.  Total compensation will depend on experience, existing book of business, and performance.

Primary Responsibilities


  • As director of advisory services, you will be responsible for managing and growing a book of money management clients. Your three primary areas of responsibility include business development, relationship management, and investment advice.

  • You will be an investment advisor representative (IAR) of BCM, and the primary contact for your clients. You will be responsible for understanding clients’ needs, goals, and circumstances, and advising them on how BCM can help achieve their objectives. You will also be responsible for regularly communicating with clients to provide reviews, answer questions, and to stay apprised of their circumstances.

  • You will be the primary relationship manager responsible for ensuring clients receive excellent service and are completely satisfied. This includes promptly addressing and resolving any client service related needs or concerns. You are expected to anticipate potential issues by knowing your clients and proactively communicating with them. Your goal is to nurture deep rapport and lasting relationships between the firm and clients over time.

  • You will be responsible for business development and increasing your practice’s assets under management, revenue, and profitability over time. This includes accumulating additional managed assets from existing clients and adding new clients to your practice. You will develop and implement a business plan describing your strategic goals and tactics for execution. This will be a personal blueprint for your growth, income, and success.




  • Must have at least three years of financial services industry experience including relationship management, business development, and investment services

  • Must have an existing, verifiable book of managed money business of at least $10 million in size

  • Must have a four-year degree from an accredited university. A relevant advanced credential (CFA, CFP, CPA) or degree (MS, MBA) is preferred but not required

  • Must have appropriate licenses or credentials to work as an investment adviser representative (Series 65, 66 & 7, or exemption qualification), or be able to obtain them within 90 days of hire (including passing relevant background checks)

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have a polished and professional presence

  • Must be a motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and determination to succeed

  • Must be organized, able to juggle multiple priorities, able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure

  • Must have the utmost integrity, be dependable, and coachable

  • No relocation assistance is provided and local candidates are preferred

  • Entry-level, part-time position




The Assistant/Associate (AA) is a part-time, entry-level position that assists with tasks related to operations, client service, and business development.  


The position is ideal for someone seeking a part-time job with limited hours for extra income, doing simple work in a professional, office environment.  It would also be appropriate for current or recent undergraduate students with limited experience, seeking part-time work, and considering a career in financial services. 


The right individual will have an opportunity to grow with the firm, and potentially into a full-time position with increased hours, compensation, responsibilities, and seniority.


Primary Responsibilities

The AA will primarily perform tasks related to the daily operation, administration, and ongoing development of an investment advisory firm. Examples include the following. 

  • Data entry and updating databases

  • Using the internet to find and gather information

  • Prepare, complete and organize documents, reports, and files

  • Assist with client service needs and issues

  • Support sales and marketing efforts including outbound calls and off-site presentations

  • Miscellaneous tasks and projects as needed


No special knowledge or experience is required. We are willing to train the right individual. However, we are looking for the following characteristics.


  • Must be dependable, have a professional demeanor, and be a person of integrity 

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Must have a positive can-do attitude, be coachable, and able to follow instructions

  • Familiar with standard PC programs like MS Office

  • Basic knowledge of and interest in financial services is a plus, but not mandatory

  • Local candidates preferred, but remote position (work from home) possible for the right candidate, no relocation assistance provided
